New season, new head coaches

Speaking with the media on Thursday about Gladbach’s salivating matchup with Leipzig on Saturday, Gladbach gaffer Daniel Farke described Leipzig’s team, players and coach Marco Rose as “top”.
He simply stated that, “We can’t say yet that we are such a top team as RB.”

On Sporting Director Max Eberl’s wish to switch to Leipzig, who have the necessary tools to make the Champions League every year, Farke understands: “It must be the case that you can feel that the diamond is at hearts with our fans. It must be the case that after a defeat, the world ends – and after a victory, everyone dreams of the Champions League.”

The former Norwich City trainer also said that, “Where things will continue for Max Eberl is a decision that Max Eberl makes self-sufficiently and that cannot be evaluated by me.” Adding that Eberl has “done extraordinary things” and “shaped an era” at Gladbach.
