Kicker reports that Ademola Lookman is currently not an option to fill the wing position at Bayer Leverkusen, contrary to reports.
Leverkusen are currently looking for a winger to replace the departed Moussa Diaby, who has joined Aston Villa in the Premier League. Reports had suggested that Leverkusen were interested in former Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman, but Leverkusen director Simon Rolfes has confirmed that he is not the type of winger they are looking for and instead, the club wants a player who can immediately fill in “or a player who is still half a step behind in his development, but who you trust even more.”
Lookman was only sold by Leipzig last summer to Atalanta for €9.2m, apart from his first spell in the Bundesliga in 2018, the 25-year-old failed to impress and was sent out on loan two more times after joining Leipzig permanently in 2019.
However, in his first season in Italy, Lookman hit the ground running and finished with 15 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances for Atalanta.
