Leicester City set to sign Cesare Casadei on loan from Chelsea

AC Milan outcast Charles De Ketelaere set for Atalanta medical

Atalanta are preparing themselves for the medical tests of Charles De Ketelaere after reaching an agreement with AC Milan over a summer move.

Sky Sport Italia reports La Dea have sorted out the final details regarding the transfer, and the Belgian youngster is expected to undergo his medical examinations on Wednesday or Thursday.

Suspicions emerged over the deal at one point after De Ketelaere was said to be having second thoughts over the move, allowing other suitors to join the race.

However, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have managed to get the green light from the 22-year-old.

La Dea will pay Rossoneri an initial loan fee of €3 million with a buy option set at €26 million, including bonuses.

The entire transfer operation would cost Atalanta €29 million, meaning that De Ketelaere could become one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

For their part, Milan have done a great piece of business, as they have recouped nearly his entire transfer fee, given that they splurged out €35m for his services from Club Brugge.

Ketelaere’s debut season in Serie A was a disappointing affair, and he will be hoping to revive his career in his new chapter at the Bergamo-based outfit.

His versatility to play in multiple positions from attack to midfield will also benefit Gasperini.

La Dea have already lost Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, while Duvan Zapata and Merih Demiral are nearing the exit door.

Zapata has given the go-ahead for a potential move to AS Roma, who are working towards finding an agreement with Atalanta.

On the other hand, Saudi giants Al Ahli have reached a total agreement for the signing of Demiral.
