AC Milan are reportedly close to signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Serie A outfit have reached an agreement in principle with the 26-year-old.
It is said that he will sign a contract that will see him earn around €3 million per season at the San Siro.
Kamada has been a key member of the German side over the years, helping them win the Europa League last season.
He has made over 170 senior appearances at the Waldstadion since joining the club in 2017.
The Japan international has also been an important figure for Oliver Glasner’s side this term, earning 30 Bundesliga appearances and scoring eight goals.
But the Eagles have confirmed he will leave the club this summer after the expiration of his contract.
Kamada was heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund with reports even suggesting he had reached verbal agreement with the Black and Yellows. But it later emerged that he had rejected the opportunity to join BVB.
The 26-year-old has also been linked with moves to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid but it now appears he will be heading to Italy.
Milan are currently going through a difficult period as they have spectacularly failed in their Serie A title defence.
They are even in serious danger of missing a top-four finish with the Rossoneri now four points behind Lazio in fifth.
Meanwhile, their hopes for making it to the Champions League final also look slim after the 2-0 loss to Inter Milan in the first-leg of the semi-final.
