As Daichi Kamada enters the final year of his contract, Eintracht Frankfurt may find it difficult to sign the Japan international to a new deal beyond 2023, according to Kicker.
SGE would need to use clauses within any potential new contract given that the Hessen club won’t be able to compete with clubs that have an economical advantage. Premier League clubs are able to offer Kamada a lucrative deal.
The 26-year-old joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Sagan Tosu for €1.5m in July 2017. Kamada spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Belgian side Sint-Truiden but since his move to Germany, has made 142 appearances for Die Adler across all competitions, scoring 30 and creating 30.
Kamada has already scored four and created three in six Bundesliga games this season. The Japanese attacking-midfielder was also key for Oliver Glasner as they lifted the Europa League, beating Rangers in Sevilla.
With the arrival of Mario Götze at Eintracht Frankfurt, it was suggested that Kamada may leave the club and Sky Germany even reported an agreement between the player and Benfica. In the end, the Portuguese club signed Julian Draxler from PSG.
