A little over two weeks before the start of the season, FC Bayern München confirmed that midfield starer Leon Goretzka underwent minor knee surgery on Monday.

Joshua Kimmich’s preferred midfield pattern will most likely miss the start of the 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign after going under the knife for knee problems on Monday. FC Bayern München confirmed that Goretzka was operated on Monday after the FCB staff detected “an abnormality in his left knee.”
No further information about the nature of the injury or the potential duration of Goretzka’s recovery time was given. Seeing as how Goretzka would not be with the team for the next phase of their pre-season training in the USA, it seems unlikely that the 27-year-old will be ready in time for the opening day match against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 5th.
Sky Germany currently reports that the estimated recovery time for the procedure may be six to eight weeks. This would leave hi unavailable for the first four Bundesliga match days and the DFL Super Cup encounter with RB Leipzig.
