According to Bild, Almamy Touré (26) is set to sign a new deal with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The defender has had many ups and downs in a Frankfurt shirt and has been criticized for some of his performances during last season.
Often used as a backup in the first half of the campaign, Touré found himself at the centre of the Frankfurt defence in the latter stages of the Europa League when head coach Oliver Glasner was in need of a defender.
Having moved to a more central position instead of the right, Touré’s performance improved massively.
He played a key role in Frankfurt’s run to the Europa League title which included wins over Barcelona, West Ham United, and the final against Rangers which went all the way to penalties.
When speaking about his turn in form, the defender said: “The mistakes have been minimised. Good performances give you self-confidence. I try to work so well that there is no way around me.”
It’s reported that Touré will extend his Frankfurt contract until 2023.
