Niclas Füllkrug has put rumors about his Werder Bremen future to bed.

Last week, speculation increased that the 29-year-old striker could leave Werder with one year left on his contract, as his negotiations with the club had hit a snag and there were other interested parties.

But the striker has now made it clear that he intends to stay and sign a new contract.

“It’s best for everyone if the issue is off the table. It is also a sign to other clubs and to the fans. Accordingly, it is clear that I want to and will stay at Werder,” he told Bild.

“It’s about giving up money, which is okay for me. Earning as much as possible is not what I’m about. It’s all on a good, right track.”
