Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that the German champions have broken off talks to sign Kieran Trippier.

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed reports that the German champions have dropped their pursuit of Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier.
Newcastle reportedly rejected Bayern’s latest offer of around €15 million for Trippier on Tuesday, and Freund has now made it clear that talks have been called off.
“The subject is closed,” Freund told Sky Germany ahead of Bayern’s Bundesliga clash with Union Berlin on Wednesday.
“We only do what we are 100 percent convinced of.”
Bayern have also been linked with a move for Nordi Mukiele in their search for a right-back.
However, as talks with Paris Saint-Germain appear to have stalled, the German champions could move on to another target – or decide not to sign a right-back at all this month.
