Al-Shabab are looking for a new manager after sacking Igor Biscan last month, and two names top the Saudi Arabian club’s shortlist: José Mourinho and Bruno Genesio, both of whom are currently out of employment.
Genesio has been out of work since leaving Stade Rennais in November. It had been thought that the Frenchman would take some time away, however, Beşiktaş made a swoop for the manager back in December. Ultimately, Genesio did not take the job, but he could be offered a route back into the game thanks to Al-Shabab.
Mourinho, who has previously alluded to managing in the Middle East and was sacked by AS Roma earlier this week, is the frontrunner, according to multiple reports. However, Genesio could be set to provide competition for the vacancy, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The publication reports that it will be one of the two that take the job at Al-Shabab.
