Bayern Munich bounced back from an embarrassing 5-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Speaking to Prime Video after the game, Bayern captain Manuel Neuer said he thought the Bavarians responded well to the defeat in Frankfurt.
“We were very angry about our performance against Frankfurt. We showed a reaction today. The coach was very happy; he said he was proud on the sidelines. We gave everything and that’s why we won today. We have to give our all in every competition. We have a team that can definitely compete for the title,” Neuer told Prime Video, according to UEFA.com.
On making his 700th career appearance against Manchester United, Neuer said:
“I wasn’t aware of that fact. I’m fit. I didn’t expect things to work so well [after the leg break] and to keep up with the rhythm without having to take a break. We are very happy, I’m very grateful to the doctors.”
