OGC Nice are currently in the market for a goalkeeper and with their newly appointed Swiss coach in Favre, the French club are rumored to want none other than Yann Sommer. Walter Benitez is off to PSV Eindhoven which leaves an opening for the Swiss keeper with an expiring contract in 2023.
Sommer has been at Gladbach for nearly a decade and consistently produces world-class performances and highlight-reel saves. He was a steady presence in Gladbach’s dismal season last year as the club are now preparing for a major rebuild. Will the 33-year-old penalty king want to be apart of Daniel Farke’s new system?
Favre was seen as the favorite take over Gladbach this offseason. Now, he’s looking to steal their most important player.
