With reports suggesting that Napoli are set to sign Jesper Lindstrøm, Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller has confirmed that the Dane is on the verge of leaving the Bundesliga club.

“You can assume that a transfer will take place in the next few days,” Toppmöller said after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Mainz.

Lindstrøm watched the entire match from the bench. Toppmöller would have liked to start the Dane, but that would have had “a certain effect on the team,” he added.

Lindstrøm’s transfer to Napoli is expected to be completed in the next few days, with Eintracht reported to receive around €35 million including bonuses for the Denmark international.
