Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir sidelined for “some weeks” with thigh injury

AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has revealed that Eliesse Ben Seghir (18) will be sidelined for “some weeks” with a thigh injury.

Ben Seghir is yet to feature for Monaco this season, and Hütter has now revealed that the player will face a period on the sidelines. In a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, the Austrian manager revealed that the France youth international had sustained the thigh injury in a warm-up. A return date was not provided, but it is now likely that he won’t feature for Les Monégasques until after the international break.

In more positive medical news for Monaco, Guillermo Maripán is once again available for selection, having missed last weekend’s match victory against Strasbourg. Myron Boadu is also training with the group once again. Mohammed Salisu, who had been suffering from an adductor injury, is also training with the group. However, Friday night’s game against FC Nantes will come too soon for the Ghanaian. The former Southampton centre-back could, however, make his debut against RC Lens the following week. Breel Embolo remains a long-term absentee, having suffered an ACL injury during pre-season, and Edan Diop continues to be unavailable due to a foot injury.
