A blockbuster move for Germany U21 captain Yann Aurel Bisseck is finally through. The 22-year-old Köln native has signed a new five-year-deal with Inter Milan one year after his youth academy club sold him to Danish side AGF Aarhus. Germany’s Kicker Magazine confirms earlier reports that the Superliga side will be paid a transfer sum of €7 million in two installments.
Köln loaned Bisseck out four times before finally selling him last summer. At times it did appear as if the youngster would never fully realize his potential. Along with the rest of his DFB-Junior colleagues, Bisseck must also contend with the disappointment that was this summer’s UEFA U21 Euros group stage exit. The German U21s drew once and lost twice in their three tournament fixtures.
Bisseck’s fine form for club last season – eight scorer points in 35 appearances for Aarhus across all competitions – nevertheless impressed the Italian giants sufficiently enough to take a chance. The player’s estimated market worth quintupled (€5 million) during his strong 2022/23 campaign. Milan ended up pulling a release clause to secure his services.
Köln, meanwhile, will secure €1.5 million as part of their re-sale arrangement.
