RB acheive breakthrough on Openda, financials on Angelino deal revealed

Multiple German footballing media sources are now reporting that RB Leipzig have finally worked out a deal to acquire striker Loïs Openda from Ligue 1 club RC Lens.

German journalist Oliver Hartmann of Kicker Magazine has offered up specific figures on both Openda’s incoming transfer and the soon-to-be finalized loan-out for Spanish wingback Angelino.

Hartmann claims that Leipzig will pay Lens a base transfer fee of €38 million. A number of lucrative performance related bonuses have been built into the deal so as to see the eventual sum rise closer to the French club’s demands of around €45 million. Sky Germany roughly confirms the figures, which will in any event render Openda by far the most expensive purchase in RB Leipzig’s young history.
