Leipzig set to loan out American prospect again

American attacking midfielder Caden Clark is still waiting on his first Bundesliga minutes. Initially signed from RB Leipzig American sister club in New York in January of 2021, the German Red Bulls have actually loaned the 20-year-old back to the NY Red Bulls twice. Clark finally joined his German side this past January after two years, appearing sporadically in head-coach Marco Rose’s matchday squads without making an appearance.

Germany’s “Sport Bild” tabloid now reports that Leipzig are considering loaning the 20-year-old out to, fittingly enough, Dutch Erdevisie side FC Twente. In his only public comments on the prospect, Rose did laud Clark’s potential at a February presser. It nevertheless seems as if the coaching staff still doesn’t feel as if the Minnesota-native is quite ready for the German level just yet.
