Rumours have recently linked Arda Güler with Real Madrid and Marca claim that Los Blancos are more focused on acquiring the Turkish teenager than Kylian Mbappé.
Güler, currently of Fenerbaçhe, has a release clause of €18m in his current contract. With Real Madrid’s emphasis on signing young players, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder fits into their criteria. Carlo Ancelotti has a number of outfield players at 25 or under to choose from: Éder Militão (25), Aurélien Tchouaméni (23), Eduardo Camavinga (20), Federico Valverde (24), Rodrygo (22) and Vinícius Júnior (22).
This would be an appealing factor in Güler’s decision, along with the player’s dream to join Real Madrid and follow in his idol’s footpath, says Mesüt Ozil to ESPN.
Additionally, the teenager will take into consideration his potential playing time when making his decision to switch clubs this summer. As Ancelotti’s side are stacked in midfield, this could be an issue. One solution to this problem could be for Florentino Pérez to strike up a deal with Fenerbaçhe and Güler, and then loan the 18-year-old back to the Turkish club for the season.
