Fenerbahce teenager Arda Guler is currently one of the hottest prospects in Europe and has caught the attention of top clubs.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a stellar breakout season last term, establishing himself as one of the most coveted players in the Turkish top flight.
Guler racked up six goals and seven assists in all competitions and was instrumental in Fenerbahce finishing second in the league as well as lifting the Turkish Cup.
The Turkish prodigy is also technically proficient, adept at dribbling and progressing and also can play in a wide range of positions across the midfield and forward line.
Guler’s contract expires in the summer of 2025, but he has been heavily speculated to move to a top club in Europe this summer.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reveals that Guler’s €17.5 million release clause is now active after playing 1500 minutes in the recently concluded campaign.
It is an absolute bargain considering his potential, and his suitors are expected to be tussling out for his signature.
Premier League giants Liverpool and Newcastle United have Guler’s name on top of their wishlist and are also said to have stepped up their efforts to sign him.
The Reds are in dire need of midfield reinforcements ahead of next season and cite Guler as the one who can provide a creative edge and also a top prospect for the future.
Meanwhile, Newcastle want to bolster the squad on all fronts after ensuring their place in the Champions League next season. They are reportedly in pole position to land James Maddison and could follow up with Guler.
Elsewhere in Spain, Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in Guler, who is being dubbed as the Turkish Messi.
The Catalan giants can look at the Turkish sensation after failing to re-sign Lionel Messi.
