As reported by Sky Germany, both Dino Toppmöller and Matthias Jaissle are the two favourites to take over from Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Glasner is due to step down from his duties after Frankfurt’s DFB Pokal final against RB Leipzig later this month. Despite winning the Europa League last season, the Eagles have struggled for form in the league and look set to miss out on European football unless they win the DFB Pokal.
After meetings with Frankfurt bosses, the 48-year-old Austrian agreed to step down at the end of the campaign. Fans and players alike will be hoping for a big send-off in May as Glasner can leave knowing he delivered two trophies during his time there.
In terms of replacements, Dino Toppmöller and Matthias Jaissle are the leading candidates.
Toppmöller was the assistant coach at Bayern Munich under Julian Nagelsmann. Prior to that, the 42-year-old with Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig and independently managed in Luxembourg.
Jaissle (35) is the current head coach at RB Salzburg. In 88 competitive games with the Austrian team, Jaissle has 66 matches.
