After negotiations for a transfer in the summer of 2021 fell through, Borussia Mönchengladbach are reportedly once again interested in bringing in French left-back Faitout Maouassa. The former Rennes man was sold to Brugge when negotiations for a move to Germany failed to pan out. At present, Maouassa plays on on loan in his home country with Montpellier.

Gladbach will need reinforcements at the left back position after Ramy Bensebaini departs this summer. Youngster Luca Netz presumably remains the left-back of the future, but Net’s recent performances in Bensebaini’s absence surely leave the BMG personnel managers feeling as if someone more stable should be procured.

Maouassa’s curent estimated market worth stands at €5 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The 24-year-old has netted three goals and registered five assists in Ligue 1 this season. He’s due back in Belgium at the end of the campaign, where his current working papers run through 2025.
