Marco Asensio is set to discuss his future with his agent Jorge Mendes, report Estadio Deportivo.
The 26-year-old’s contract with Los Blancos is set to expire in June 2023 and the club and the player are yet to enter talks regarding a possible extension.
While the two parties have not started discussions about the extension of Asensio’s deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, it is believed that Real Madrid are willing to offer him a new contract with a slightly lower salary.
Asensio will sit down with Mendes to discuss what options the Spaniard can take. As of this month, Asensio is free to sign pre-contractual agreements with other clubs.
The Spanish international has been linked with several top European sides, including Arsenal. However, Asensio does not want to rush into a decision. Mendes has a good relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, meaning a move to Real Madrid’s biggest rival cannot be ruled out just yet.
