According to SportBild, Borussia Dortmund’s chances of keeping hold of Youssoufa Moukoko have taken another dent as the youngster increases his wage demands.
A possible contract renewal for the 18-year-old forward has been stagnant for some time now. His current contract with BVB runs out next summer. In just over a week, Moukoko can begin to talk to other clubs who are queueing up to sign him. One club that is partially interested in his services is Premier League side Chelsea.
As per the report, Moukoko wants a gross salary of around €8m instead of the €6m they are offering him.
Head coach Edin Terzić and his assistant Sebastian Geppert hold Moukoko in high esteem and wish to have him at the club for several years. Despite this, the ball is in the player’s court and discussions appear to have come to standstill. Should the German international leave on a free transfer in the summer, it will be a massive blow to BVB both on the pitch and financially.
