Chelsea forward Marc Guiu has struggled for game time this season after returning from a loan spell with Sunderland
Marc Guiu’s camp has strongly denied reports that the player had handed in a transfer request at Chelsea, following speculation online earlier this week.
Spanish media outlet Sport claims sources close to the player insist Guiu is happy at Stamford Bridge and has not asked to leave the club.
The report refutes any suggestion of the player being unhappy despite a lack of game time. Guiu is said to be confident at the Blues, but is not ruling out different options in the summer when the European transfer window opens.
Guiu, who arrived from Barcelona in 2024 for a fee in the region of £5million, has struggled for regular game time since arriving from the Nou Camp.

He was always considered a signing for the future and joined Premier League rivals Sunderland on loan in order to continue his development.
However, Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich and an injury to Liam Delap left Enzo Maresca’s side short of options up front.
As a result, Guiu was recalled from the Stadium of Light prior to the summer transfer window closing, making just three appearances for the Black Cats.
Since returning to the Blues, the Spanish striker has managed just 235 minutes of top-flight football, making FA Cup and League Cup appearances under new head coach Liam Rosenior.
Guiu has not scored for Chelsea in the Premier League, though he did register an assist in the win over Burnley back in November, and hasn’t made a top-flight appearance since the draw with Bournemouth at the start of December.
Although he hasn’t got much game time under Rosenior, the Blues boss has been pleased with the striker, despite playing a fringe role.
Speaking earlier this month, Rosenior said: “That’s the first thing I look for in my strikers; people contributing to us winning games of football.
“All strikers want to score goals, that’s why they play the game, but Liam defends from the front amazingly well, so does Joao. If you look at most players and their careers, it’s usually the second season they take off.
“He’s had some injuries. I’m really happy with Joao and Liam. Marc Guiu has been very good and that needs to continue for us to be successful.”
