Having returned to full fitness after suffering a fractured fibula, Jamal Musiala has set his sights on a return to the German national team for their friendlies against Switzerland (March 27) and Ghana (March 30) next month.

Following FC Bayern Munich’s 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, which saw Musiala make his first Bundesliga start of the season, the 22-year-old was asked whether he considers a call-up in March realistic.

“I think so,” Musiala said, while stressing that he is taking things step by step.

“My focus right now is first on the match in Dortmund (on Saturday) and the games after that.

“I have to get back into rhythm. I ran a lot and had good actions,” he added about his performance against Eintracht Frankfurt.

“My mindset is simply to make progress game by game – and not think about the foot.”

Musiala has made a total of eight appearances for Bayern this season, scoring once and providing two assists.
