After a 2-0 defeat to Slovakia and a 3-1 victory over Northern Ireland in their first two World Cup qualifiers, Germany continue their qualifying campaign this month.
Ahead of their upcoming matches against Luxembourg on October 10 and Northern Ireland on October 13, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has announced his squad.
Notably, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown has earned his first senior call-up, while Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck returns to the squad after his recent return from injury.
Jonathan Burkardt, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Felix Nmecha, and Ridle Baku also make their returns to the team.
Compared to September’s squad, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Pascal Gross, Paul Nebel, Nnamdi Collins, and Antonio Rüdiger (injured) have been left out.
“Two wins – that is our clear goal to continue on the direct path to World Cup qualification. Even though we still have to do without some players, we are confident: our squad has the quality to perform better than last time,” said Nagelsmann.
