RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose felt his team “deserved more” from last night’s 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
In a tight affair, Real Madrid finally managed to break the deadlock in the 80th minute and eventually put the game to bed in injury time.
“It was an intensive match in which we were not able to reward ourselves for a decent and appealing performance,” Rose told reporters after the game.
“I think we deserved more! We did very well for most parts of this match. We won many balls back, allowed them little.
“But it is quite clear that you need a top performance for 90 minutes to beat Madrid. For their first goal we were not capable of covering that space inside the box and with their quality they punish you.”
