100 games for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has officially played 100 games for the Rekordmeister – here is a collection of highlights and numbers of his time in Munich, as well as a look into the future of the Englishman!

100 games for Bayern Munich – a big milestone for one of Bayern’s best players in recent memory, Harry Kane. There were many doubters, when the then 30-year-old made the switch to Germany in 2023 for €95 million – a new transfer record for the Bavarians! That begs the question: How has the Englishman fared since his arrival?

After modern day club legend Robert Lewandowski, who scored 344 goals in 375 games for Bayern, left the club to join Barcelona, many believed this hole in Bayern’s squad would not be filled anytime soon. However, Kane’s 91 goals in 100 games have proven said doubters wrong! As many fans online have already said: these numbers are what you want from a nearly €100 million transfer – and it’s what Kane has delivered since day one in a red kit.

But the Englishman is far more than just a clinical striker: his additional playmaker attributes have really revolutionized Bayern Munich’s playing style. Kane’s 28 assists mean that he was involved in 1.19 goals per game for Bayern Munich – outstanding numbers!

If you look beyond his goal providing skills, Kane has put himself at the service of the team: the best example is his most recent performance against Augsburg, where he even helped out as left-back on multiple occasions – as FCA coach Sandro Wagner pointed out right after the game.

As Kane’s overall world-class qualities have added a new dimension to Bayern’s game and will be hard to replace one day, they have already started to look for a possible successor to the now 32-year-old: it was supposed to be Nick Woltemade, but he just completed his transfer to Newcastle, where he received a lenghty contract. Does this mean Bayern are in danger of experiencing a big drop-off in striker quality in the forseeable future? Not necessarily.

Kane’s role has been perfectly adjusted to a player, who is likely to lose some of his pace and general physicality over the next few years – but thos attributes have never really been Kane’s strenghts anyway! He could easily continue to play on his world-class level in the coming season, especially with players like Musiala, Olise and Díaz surroundin him.

The only problem could be his desire to return to the Premier League one day: this will be a huge, if not the biggest talking points of Bayern’s transfer plans in the next two to three summer transfer windows. But with Kane desperate to win the UEFA Champions League, his forseeable future could likely still be in Munich! Their 2025/26 form so far is definitely making Bayern one of the ealy favourites for the desired title.

Speaking of titles: they have been the main story of Harry Kane’s life as a professional footballer and are considered to be the dark side to his otherwise splendid career at Bayern this far.

As a matter of fact, Harry Kane has been the main example for a world-class player to never win a major trophy until 2023. This stigma was one of the key reasons for Kane’s transfer to Bayern – a club which won the national league eleven times in a row until he arrived.

The Englishman wanted to go to a club where he can compete for and, ideally, win every major trophy possible – but his “curse” continued in his first season at Bayern. Even though he played a great individual season, he was part of the Bayern team to lose the Bundesliga-winning-streak – a big hit and field day for every doubter out there.

This dark side however, turned very bright in Kane’s second season in Munich, where he was able to win the Bundesliga under his second Bayern coach Vincent Kompany. Bayern added the Supercup this season as well and are set for a glorious year in Kane’s third season at the club.

All in all, Kane has already had a quite exciting and successful Bayern career, just 100 games in – but he is close to cementing himself in the history books of the club as one of their best strikers ever: Kane currently ranks 21st in Bayern’s all-time list of players with the most goals scored – with 91 goals in just 100 games.

If he continues with his season average of 43 goals, he would end his third year in Munich with 128 goals – overtaking the likes of Roy Makaay, Uli Hoeneß, Mario Gómez, Franck Ribéry and Claudio Pizarro! Kane would rank 11th in the list, just eleven goals shy of a top 10 spot.

Many thought Kane would end up having a good time at Bayern, but only a few could have predicted these kind of numbers just three years into his time in Germany!

Let’s see what the real future holds for the Englishman – but one thing can be guaranteed: his future most definitely contains a lot of goals.
