Per L’Équipe, Bayern’s Bouna Sarr will have knee surgery on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich right-back Bouna Sarr will undergo surgery on his patellar tendon, according to L’Équipe. The Senegal international has dealt with knee issues in the past and will be out for the rest of 2022. This means that Sarr will not participate in the World Cup.
Bayern tried to offload the 30-year-old this summer, but couldn’t find any takers. Sarr has struggled to find playing time in the squad and was hoping for a transfer to better prepare for Qatar, which is now out of the question. His contract in Bavaria expires in 2024.
