Manchester United started their season with a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
While the club’s new signings impressed on their league debut, there are still some issues that need attention in the summer transfer window from the manager.
Ruben Amorim would be delighted with how Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo performed against Arsenal. It appears like Benjamin Sesko still needs more time to gel into the side.
Despite Amorim making three high-profile signings, the Red Devils are still targeting more players before the end of the transfer window.
Man United are interested in Nathan Collins
One of the positions high on their agenda is the centre-back position. With Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof leaving the club this summer, Man United need more options at the back.
In order to add depth to their centre-back area, Man United are targeting a move for Brentford captain Nathan Collins, according to Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old was recently given the captain’s armband at the club after the departure of midfielder Christian Norgaard to Arsenal.
Brentford, however, have no desire to let their captain leave the club this summer.
After already losing two key players like Mbeumo and Norgaard, as well as their manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham, Brentford are determined to keep hold of Collins.
Red Devils face competition to sign Brentford defender

The young centre-back has also attracted interest from Man United’s Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham.
Among the clubs interested in Collins, perhaps Man United are the least equipped at the moment to sign him.
The Red Devils must offload unwanted players first before making new signings.
Amorim’s team are looking to offload the likes of Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
