Chelsea retain interest in Mohammed Kudus despite signing Pedro

Chelsea remain interested in signing West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus despite already bolstering their attack this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Blues have deals in place to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Joao Pedro. They also completed the £30 million signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

However, Chelsea are reportedly not done reinforcing their attack and continue to consider swooping for Kudus.

They are in the transfer race for the Ghanaian international alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

Tottenham are set to miss out on Bryan Mbeumo, who prefers to join Manchester United. Spurs have turned to Kudus.

They are ready to do business with the Hammers for the first time in 14 years.

Newcastle are also keen on Kudus after Chelsea pipped them to Pedro.

The Magpies have faced disappointment at every turn this summer transfer window and must be desperate to get this one over the line.

It is worth noting that Chelsea are the only party to have proposed a concrete offer to West Ham for Kudus.

They reportedly tried to exchange some players for the 24-year-old, but the Hammers rejected it.

Chelsea could return with a more suitable offer for Kudus as they look to pip the competition to sign the former Ajax winger.

But do Chelsea need Kudus or any other attacker? The Blues already boast a bloated frontline, having signed Delap, Bynoe-Gittens, and Pedro.

Christopher Nkunku, Tyrique George, Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez, Deivid Washington, David Datro Fofana, Pedro Neto, Geovany Quenda, Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson are still on the books.

It is becoming a chaotic collection of talent without a clear plan. Continuously hoarding attackers only adds to the confusion and stifles development.

Throwing money around in such a reckless, scattergun fashion feels less like strategy and more like impulse buying.

This relentless stockpiling of players makes zero footballing or financial sense.
