After becoming a trailblazing figure in the Middle East, Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent social media posts points to him being on the move again – and recent reports have now claimed that the striker, who is eyeing the 1,000-goal mark, has two ‘serious’ contract offers to mull over before making a decision.
Back in the latter stages of 2022, Ronaldo’s future hung in the balance upon a public fall-out with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United – but after a couple of months without a club, he made the interesting move to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League at the turn of 2023.
Others have since followed. Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante joined reigning champions Al-Ittihad; Al-Hilal have signed the likes of Neymar and Ruben Neves and Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr even secured the services of Jhon Duran in January as a mark of their intent.
Ronaldo Receives Two ‘Serious’ Contract Offers Amid Uncertainty Over Future
The Portuguese is said to be ‘reflecting’ over his current options
Despite scoring bucketloads of goals – 93 in 105 outings across all competitions, to be precise – and bringing attention aplenty to football in the Middle East, he’s due to enter free agency in the summer due to his contract being set to expire on June 30.
The Portuguese talisman – widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers to ever play the beautiful game – appeared to confirm that his Al-Nassr journey is coming to an end. Cryptically, the 40-year-old took to his social media on Monday night to say:
“The chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
His post came after a 3-2 loss to Al Fateh in his employers’ final Saudi Pro League outing of the season. All in all, Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr managed to secure third in the top flight – but were 13 points behind the triumphant Al-Ittihad, who are managed by Laurent Blanc.
Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato has now reported that Ronaldo has two ‘serious’ proposals to consider before deciding what the future holds.
Firstly, remaining at Al-Nassr – who played their home games at the King Saud University Stadium – remains on the cards despite a recent breakdown in talks, which began after the powers that be realised they were on course for no silverware this season.

From Eric Cantona to Dennis Bergkamp, fans have been blessed with seeing many great players from overseas compete in the Premier League.
In fact, the journalist insists that he is ‘on the verge’ of putting pen to paper and re-signing for the club. Ronaldo, though, is reportedly hesitant to rush into signing on the dotted line after receiving an offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Following Neymar’s departure, they are looking to replace the Brazilian’s superstardom with a marquee signing. Ronaldo has been earmarked, and Al-Hilal are able to offer the seasoned centre-forward a salary similar to what he’s currently earning.
Not only that, but they are able to offer him the chance to play in this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, with Al-Hilal set to play against none other than the marksman’s former club Real Madrid alongside Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca. At present, he is ‘reflecting’ and ‘deeply debating between two rich and powerful clubs’.
