Julian Baumgartlinger has joined Augsburg on a one-year deal.

FC Augsburg have completed the signing of veteran midfielder Julian Baumgartlinger on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old, who left Leverkusen when his contract expired at the end of last season, has inked a one-year contract with ‘Die Fuggerstädter’.
“We have a lot of young players with potential in our squad and we wanted to get an experienced man in our midfield, especially now Niklas Dorsch is ruled out injured for a long time. Julian will help our team both on and off the pitch with his sporting quality, his mentality, his character and his experience,” said Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter.
Baumgartlinger added:
“I’m really excited to play for FC Augsburg because I find the way they have established themselves in the Bundesliga over the last 11 years really impressive. I’m confident that my intense way of playing will fit the club and the team. I’m fit and ready for my new challenge here.”
