According to a report by Foot Mercato, FC Barcelona have been priced out of a move for RB Lepzig’s Mohamed Simakan (24).
The Catalan club reportedly made enquiries with their German counterparts over Sikaman. Barcelona are keen to make a few transfers before the end of the window and would be interested in strengthening their defence with the versatile French defender.
This is especially the case with Andreas Christensen’s (28) recent injury which will see the Danish international absent for between two to four months. La Liga have confirmed that his injury, however, has paved the way for Dani Olmo (26) to be registered.
However, with this in mind, it is clear that Barcelona’s finances remain an obstacle and are limiting the actions that the club can take ahead of the window shutting on the 30th of August. Leipzig have set a €50 million price tag on Sikaman which is thought to be out of range for Barcelona.
