£90m duo ‘probably on their way out’ of Old Trafford

Manchester United duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek appear to be ‘on their way out’ of Old Trafford after putting in ‘frustrating’ performances against Cadiz, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag will be able to sanction incomings and outgoings when the winter window opens for business next month.

Man United transfer news – Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek

According to The Sun, Manchester United will allow Wan-Bissaka to join Crystal Palace on loan if an agreement can be reached with the south Londoners.

The report suggests the Red Devils are open to offloading the 25-year-old after he has fallen down the pecking order since his £50million switch from Selhurst Park in 2019.

Meanwhile, ten Hag has revealed that a loan move away from Manchester United could also make sense for van de Beek.

Jones has previously told GIVEMESPORT that the midfielder will have ‘a queue of clubs’ monitoring his situation, while Ajax and PSV Eindhoven have been named as suitors.

However, the Red Devils’ chances of boosting Wan-Bissaka and van de Beek’s respective price tags suffered a blow when the duo failed to impress during a friendly with Cadiz earlier this week and were only handed 4/10 ratings by the Manchester Evening News.

What has Dean Jones said about Wan-Bissaka and van de Beek?

Jones believes Wan-Bissaka and van de Beek failed to take advantage of their opportunity to work their way into the forefront of ten Hag’s plans when they did not impress against Cadiz.

The journalist feels the duo are likely to leave Manchester United because they have been unable to make a strong impression since the Dutchman moved into the dugout.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Ideally, Wan Bissaka and van de Beek would have bounced back with standout games, so it will be frustrating they could not do that.

“But, ultimately, that one game is not going to solely determine their future. The simple fact is both players were already struggling and are probably on their way out.”

Should Wan-Bissaka and van de Beek be offloaded in January?

Wan-Bissaka and van de Beek earn a combined £210,000-per-week, according to Spotrac, and it would make business sense to find buyers for the pair if they are not going to be key men for Manchester United in the second half of the campaign.

Right-back Wan-Bissaka has been restricted to just four minutes of action since the season got underway and it is abundantly clear that he has failed to impress ten Hag, so the Red Devils should look to reach an agreement with Palace or another suitor.

It is a slightly different situation with van de Beek as he has previously worked well under his fellow countryman, racking up 61 goal contributions in 110 appearances while they were together at Ajax.

However, the 25-year-old has struggled in the red half of Manchester and been handed an average Premier League match rating of 6.45 by Sofascore.

That is an underwhelming figure, particularly considering he headed to Old Trafford in a deal worth up to £40million, and another temporary move away from Old Trafford could be what van de Beek needs right now.
