Arsenal have Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby on their ‘shortlist’ after they missed out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, BILD Sport journalist Christian Falk has informed GIVEMESPORT.
The Gunners are in the market for reinforcements this window, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his squad as they eye Premier League glory.

Arsenal Transfer News – Mykhaylo Mudryk
Earlier this window, BILD reported that Arsenal was said to be vying for the signature of 23-year-old Diaby, who has racked up six goals and three assists inside 15 Bundesliga matches this season, as per Transfermarkt.
The Londoners are not alone in their pursuit of the French winger, with Newcastle United also waiting in the wings to try and lure him to Tyneside. The Magpies had tried and failed to acquire him last summer; however, have turned their attentions towards Diaby again as they eye a top-four finish.
Arsenal has already been linked with several forward-thinking additions this month. Nevertheless, sought-after targets Mudryk and Joao Felix have both pitched up at Stamford Bridge, joining rivals Chelsea following weeks of speculation over their futures.
The Gunners had also looked into the possibility of a move for Diaby last year, though were told they would need to pay £63 million to take him to the Emirates, as cited by The Daily Mail. This time round, Arsenal could have to fork out a similarly large sum to entice the France international to North London.
What has Christian Falk said about Moussa Diaby?
BILD Sport journalist Christian Falk has stated that Arsenal have Diaby on their ‘shortlist’ as they seek alternative options to Chelsea star Mudryk.
Falk told GMS: “He’s on the shortlist, of course. I think there are many clubs in the Premier League who are watching him.”
Would Diaby be a good fit for the Gunners this window?
In light of their failure to capture Mudryk, Diaby would be an excellent signing for Arsenal that would fit into their style of play. The 23-year-old would provide an injection of pace similar to that of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, who have both excelled for the league leaders this season.
WhoScored notes that Diaby has once again been a reliable threat to defences in the Bundesliga in 2022/23, obtaining a rating of 7.13/10 for his performances in the German top flight. He also has an eye for a pass, threading an average of 1.9 key balls to teammates per match this season.
Diaby is also a versatile attacker, capable of playing on either flank or behind the striker which could help to give Arsenal boss Arteta another unique offensive option that can fulfil multiple duties.
Moving forward, he would be a statement signing for the Gunners as they look to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
