4 Barcelona stars risk a one-game suspension in Atlético clash

No fewer than four members of Xavi’s Barcelona squad will be walking the disciplinary tightrope, in the club’s showdown with Atlético Madrid on Sunday night.

Barca, of course, are primed to return to action later tonight.

Fresh off booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in midweek, focus will be directed back towards matters on the domestic front, in a crunch meeting with Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.

Ahead of the imminent break for the upcoming round of international fixtures, the Blaugrana will head into proceedings with sights firmly set on all three points, a result which would guide them clear of Girona into 2nd in the La Liga table.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts to contribute towards as much, a quartet of the club’s stars will be forced to toe the line on the disciplinary front.

All of Andreas Christensen, Oriol Romeu, Robert Lewandowski, and Iñigo Martínez currently sit on four yellow cards across the Spanish top-flight campaign.

Should any of the four be booked once more at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday, they will in turn be forced to sit out a one-game ban, against Las Palmas on Saturday, March 30th.
