£35m star’s exit ‘not totally ruled out’ at Elland Road

Leeds United selling Jack Harrison to Leicester City before the transfer window closes seems unlikely but is not impossible, Dharmesh Sheth has told GiveMeSport.

While the Sky Sports reporter doubts a move will happen, he says it has not been completely ruled out.

Leeds transfer news – Jack Harrison

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GMS that he does not think Harrison is interested in a move to Leicester right now.

According to The Athletic, the Foxes have made a £20m bid for the winger as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen out wide ahead of next week’s deadline.

Leeds’ valuation is thought to be much higher than that, though, with the MailOnline claiming that they will not accept anything less than £35m.

Manager Jesse Marsch, however, has made it clear that he wants to keep the 26-year-old at Elland Road. “We like him here, we want to keep him and he’s performing really well,” the American was quoted as saying by the same outlet.

What has Dharmesh Sheth said about Jack Harrison and Leeds?

Sheth is not ruling out Harrison moving to Leicester but thinks Leeds sanctioning a sale to a relegation rival is unlikely to happen.

Speaking to GMS, the Sky Sports reporter said: “The big thing for me here is even though he’s got 18 months left and Leeds are going to have to cash in at some point if he isn’t going to sign a new contract, would they want to do business with Leicester City with a key player like Jack Harrison? He scored a fantastic goal at Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup yesterday.

“They are on the same amount of points in the Premier League. They’re on 18; they’re both one point above the relegation zone. Jack Harrison’s a key player. Would Leeds contemplate selling him to Leicester City, a direct relegation rival right now? It seems unlikely, but it hasn’t totally been ruled out.”

Should Leeds sell Jack Harrison to Leicester?

No, not during this transfer window. As already mentioned, both teams are relegation rivals at this moment in time and Harrison is a good player.

When was Leeds founded?

Since the start of the 2020/21 season, Harrison has directly contributed to 30 of the Whites’ goals in the Premier League, as per Transfermarkt.

While his contract may be running down, handing that over to another club in a similar position to them could easily backfire. Preventing Harrison from joining Leicester is probably the play here for Leeds.
