Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Milan return could be announced today

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to Milan could be announced later today, months after his retirement as a player.

The Swede bid farewell to the club at the end of last season in what was an emotional scene for the iconic forward. But Ibra is now set to return to Milan in another capacity for his third spell at the club, as it has been previously reported.

La Repubblica report that Zlatan will be Milan’s sports consultant and he will act as a close collaborator with Gerry Cardinale, who became the Rossoneri’s majority shareholder in 2022 and the former striker will be officially employed by RedBird. He could be announced as a consultant later today.

Financial Times have stated that Ibrahimovic will not just help RedBird in the sports department that covers Milan, but he would also expand RedBird’s portfolio of assets in sports, media and entertainment in general. He could also provide inputs in the market for Milan, while suggesting potential moves and he would help CEO Giorgio Furlani and manager Stefano Pioli.
