FC Augsburg defender Cedric Zesiger gave his insight into the 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this afternoon. The Swiss international offered some criticism and praise for Die Fuggerstadter’s performance.
“Unfortunately, we were lacking efficiency in our play today, a problem we experienced with our creativity going forward in other matches.
“We were in control of the game in the first half, which we should’ve used to our advantage. Frankfurt then started strong after the break and we let the game slip out of our hands.
“Everything was in our favour despite that, which is what’s even more frustrating. In the closing stages, however, we proved that we’re capable of holding our own against any team,” he explained.
Zesiger summarised the stalemate against a high flying Frankfurt side as “a step in the right direction.” Augsburg take on reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen next weekend on Matchday 31.
