An insight into the somewhat bizarre latest developments behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona has today been forthcoming online.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, and points towards fresh disappointment as having been sparked amongst manager Xavi and his coaching staff.
Barcelona’s stars, it is understood, were on Wednesday each gifted with an Apple MacBook laptop.
This came owing to a promise made by the club’s board regarding their La Liga meeting with Atlético Madrid back in December.
As per the aforementioned MD, Xavi’s squad were informed in the days leading up to their showdown with Atléti that, in the case of securing a victory, they would each be given a MacBook, as a reward.
Barca’s players, to their credit, went on to manage precisely that, a solitary strike on the part of João Félix against his parent club proving enough for a 1-0 triumph.
And, though it took some time, the squad in Catalunya’s capital were on Wednesday indeed each afforded a new laptop, free of charge.
Whilst the Blaugrana’s players were no doubt thrilled with as much, however, it is safe to say that the gesture did not go down overly well with manager Xavi’s staff.
This comes with it added that the coaching personnel in Barcelona were not included in the gift-giving, an oversight which ‘left a bad taste in the mouths of many’ members of Xavi’s team.
