Xabi Alonso apparently received a hefty pay rise when he extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2026 in August.
According to Bild, the former Spain international now earns up to €6 million a year.
That makes him the second-highest paid coach in the Bundesliga, behind only Bayern’s Thomas Tuchel.
Real Madrid are said to be keeping tabs on Xabi Alonso, who has impressed after being appointed Leverkusen coach in October 2022.
