A backstage report has emerged revealing WWE’s plans for Seth Rollins and The Vision at WrestleMania 42.
Rollins returned to WWE during the men’s Elimination Chamber match on Saturday night, when he attacked Vision member Logan Paul.
Before laying ‘The Maverick’ out, Seth revealed himself to be the masked man who had been attacking members of The Vision ever since the Royal Rumble.
Seth Rollins’ Return to WWE Explored
Prior to his appearance at Elimination Chamber, Rollins had been out of action since being taken out by former stablemates Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on the Raw after October’s Crown Jewel event. (In reality, the Superstar required an extended period on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury).
While the multiple-time world champion would typically have returned to take revenge on those who injured him.
However, with both Breakker (hernia) and Reed (torn bicep) both out of action with injuries of their own, Rollins was left to take his frustrations out on Logan.
Following Rollins’ comeback at Elimination Chamber, a backstage report from BodySlam+ has confirmed WWE’s current plans for the returning Superstar heading into WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins Set to Compete at WrestleMania 42
Although the outlet was not able to verify that Seth has been cleared for in-ring action, the fact that he was allowed to execute a stomp at Elimination Chamber suggests he is close to returning to full health.
With that in mind, WWE has pencilled Rollins in for a major match at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Per the report, the only issue that still needs to be decided is which member of Paul Heyman’s stable will be on the opposite side of the ring.
The company is open to having Rollins face off with Logan at WrestleMania, but it is not WWE’s first choice match for the former Shield member. WWE’s preferred option would be to book Rollins vs Breakker for the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’, assuming that Bron is cleared to compete.
Breakker himself is reportedly “working his a** off” to try and be ready for WrestleMania. Having missed out on a previously planned Royal Rumble win and potential World Heavyweight Championship run, ‘The Unpredictable Badass’ would naturally love to be able to take his place in a major singles match on the two-night extravaganza.
Time will tell if he is able to beat the clock and make it back in time for WrestleMania. If he is not cleared, though, his loss looks likely to be Paul’s gain.
Logan and Seth have met on WWE’s grandest stage before, with Rollins picking up the victory at WrestleMania 39. Even though the match took place three years ago, a rematch would have a different feel to it, given Paul’s growth as a character and a performer since.
