All eyes are on the WWE
this weekend as the Road to WrestleMania kicks off with the 2025 Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year’s card is headlined by arguably the most stacked men’s Royal Rumble match in recent memory.
One Hollywood movie star has already been confirmed to appear in this year’s event as John Cena will participate in the final Royal Rumble match of his Hall of Fame career. But the 16-time world champion might not be the only Hollywood megastar showing up on Saturday night. WWE fans at the Lucas Oil Stadium might just see The Rock, as well.
The Rock May Appear at the Royal Rumble
Signs point to The Great One showing up
The Great One has not given any indication that he will be appearing at the Premium Live Event. But the WWE has dropped multiple hints that ‘The Final Boss’ will be at the Royal Rumble event.
The first is a hype video that Netflix posted of the PLE. The package included confirmed Royal Rumble participants, including Cena, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk, among others. One notable inclusion was none other than The Rock.
If that does not convince you that The Brahma Bull is showing up on Saturday, perhaps this hint will. Several street signs around Indianapolis recently received a WWE-themed facelift ahead of the Royal Rumble. One of them was called “The People’s Pkwy,” obviously a nod to The People’s Champ.
There’s one thing about wrestling fans — they notice every single thing. There’s also one thing about this current era of the WWE, they do everything with a purpose.
It is worth noting, The Rock’s last two WWE television appearances were announced in advance. Prior to the RAW on Netflix premiere, he posted a video package that he would show up at the historic show on January 6th. He opened the show and, interestingly, showed love to Cody Rhodes. He also presented the Ula Fala to Roman Reigns. Likewise, The Rock was also promoted to appear on NXT the following day. He graced NXT fans with his presence and gave a motivational promo for the superstars of tomorrow.
Notably, however, The Rock’s last PLE appearance was a surprise. He appeared at WWE Bad Blood in October 2024 after the main event, when he confronted and stared down Reigns and Rhodes.
So take those hints and facts with a grain of salt. WWE fans will just have to wait 24 more hours to find out if The Final Boss will grace them with his presence at the Royal Rumble.
