Wolves to make £20 million summer move for Bristol City sensation Alex Scott

Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning to return with a £20 million bid for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, reports the Telegraph.

The Midlands club wanted to sign the 19-year-old during the January transfer window.

However, the Championship club demanded £25 million for Scott’s services, and Wolves pulled out of negotiations.

Manager Julen Lopetegui is looking to bolster his midfield ahead of next season.

Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho could both leave Wolves in the summer due to their contract situation.

Moutinho’s deal ends at the end of the season and a new contract does not appear to be on Wolves’ agenda for the 36-year-old.

Neves would have just 12 months left on his contract by June, and the club are expected to cash in on him.

Scott has been impressive for Bristol and is also on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are also keen on the England under-20 international.

Having attempted to sign Scott in January, Bournemouth could also return for his services if they survive relegation.

He can play across several positions in midfield and Lopetegui is an admirer of his qualities.

Wolves are fighting for survival themselves, with just five points separating them from the drop zone after 26 games.

Nevertheless, they are already preparing for the summer transfer window and Scott is top of their plans.

The youngster has assisted four goals in 34 league games for the Robbins and also scored once in four FA Cup games.

He scored four times and assisted twice in 38 Championship games last term.
