Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that VfL Wolfsburg – actively on the hunt for a striker to back up Jonas Wind following Lukas Nmecha’s latest injury setback – are set to sign Swedish youth international Amine Sarr from Olympique Lyonnais. Romano reports that the 22-year-old is en-route to the northern Autostadt this evening to complete his medical and will cost Germany’s green company team €15 million including add-ons.
The former Mälmo and Heerenveen striker has earned just six starts for his Ligue 1 side since joining on an €11 million transfer during the January 2023 transfer window. The French club evidently sees an opportunity to make a quick profit on a quick flip. Sarr has been capped 10 times at U21 level for Sweden and maintains an estimated market worth of €8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.
