VfL Wolfsburg have made enquiries about Augsburg striker Mergim Berisha, Kicker reports.

According to reports, Augsburg have activated a €4 million buyout option to sign Berisha permanently from Fenerbahce after he spent the 2022/23 season on loan at the WWK-Arena.

However, the 25-year-old striker is not expected to stay at Augsburg and is likely to move to a bigger club for a higher fee.

Apart from Wolfsburg, a number of other clubs in Germany and abroad are thought to be interested in Berisha, who is reportedly valued at around 20 million euros by Augsburg.

The striker was directly involved in 13 goals (nine goals, four assists) in 23 Bundesliga appearances for Augsburg last season.
