Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, is concerned that the striker’s groin injury has caused him to miss Norway’s games against Spain and Georgia in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
For Haaland Sr, it is unclear whether his son will be able to play for Manchester City against Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday. Haaland said his son is being treated for an injury in England and even travelled to Barcelona to be examined by Dr. Ramon Cugat, who has a good relationship with City and is often visited by City players, according to Mundo Deportivo via The Telegraph.
The Norwegian striker’s father explained that, after the medical consultation in Barcelona, the 22-year-old continued to work on his recovery with a City physiotherapist. Erling Haaland has travelled to the house he owns in Marbella and was disappointed to miss his country’s recent matches against Spain and Georgia.
Alfie Haaland told TV2 Sport in Norway: “I’m not a doctor, but if you don’t train for two weeks, you can’t go into a game like this (against Liverpool). There has to be a progression. If he can’t train, he won’t play. It depends on how he responds to the treatment in the next few days”.
