17-year-old Lennart Karl has been a revelation for Bayern Munich this season, sparking debate over whether he should be included in Germany’s squad for next year’s World Cup.
Some have argued that such an opportunity would come too soon for the young attacker, but Bayern legend Franck Ribéry disagrees.
“Why should he wait? Why should he need time? In football, there is no time,” Ribéry told Sport1.
“Why not? I hope he continues like this. If he’s ready, then he doesn’t need time,” the Frenchman added.
Karl has scored four goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances for Bayern’s first team.
He also made his debut for Germany’s U21 side in November, scoring three goals in two matches.
