Luka Modric started on the bench against Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
According to Manu Carreño of El Larguero, Modric expected more game time at Real Madrid this season.
“Modric is angry, not because he is not playing, but because Ancelotti told him he was going to play more,” Carreño said in words reported by AS.
“With the offer from Saudi Arabia, Ancelotti told him that his role would be practically the same. During the international break, he spoke to him again and told him the same thing, but the situation has not changed. His role has changed, before the break and after, and that’s what has Modric upset.”
Modric replaced fellow midfielder Toni Kroos in the 64th minute of Madrid’s 3-2 win over Napoli on Tuesday.
